Tough test this weekend at the Ring
Share
We welcome a strong and in-form Flint Mountain to the Ring this weekend which will be a fiercely contensted game. Unfortunately last weekend long journey away at Penryncoch was off due to a waterlogged pitch which was a shame as we will have to go there mid-week which is a journey I don't think anyone from Llay wants to make but we will go there and hopefully beat them.
We are still nursing a few knocks and niggles; Ruben Lima - thigh, Sammy - kidney infection and Cavan - hamstring and do not look to have them back in the near future, which is a shame. We welcome Callum Hodgekinson to the club, Callum signed the dotted line before the window closed but was unsure if he needed surgery on his ankle, thankfully he doesn't and returns to training with the view to involved in the near future.
Looking ahead to the game, I have watched Flint M a few times this season and they've really impressed me. At their place, it was a bizarre game, 2-0 down at half time which could and should have been more, to bringing it back to 2-2 with chances to win it to then concede twice in added time to lose the game. Football.
We will be working hard in training this week to find the best way to win the game, exploit their perceived weaknesses and eliminate their threats to the best of our ability. We have to make home advantage count, we have to be in their faces and aggressive and make it into a dogfight as I believe that's when we are at our best.
Unfortunately the reserves game was off too on Saturday at home to Airbus and the U17s had no game. The resevres are away to Ruthin on Saturday and the u17 are at home to Rhostyllen. Good luck lads!
Whatever happens until now to the end of the season, the club will be fighting for the club and supporters. One supporter was getting 2 trains and a bus to watch us at Penryncoch on Saturday which is amazing. When people are paying money and taking time out of their weekends to support the club, the ABSOLUTE minimum that we should give them is 110% hard work and the rest should follow. Thank you for your continued support Welly fans.
