Llay take on Buckley Town

We welcome Buckley to the Ring for this weekends Cymru North fixture. Buckley have had a great season so far are currently sit 4th in the table. We are expecting a hard working and tough to beat side at the Ring and we will have to be at it tactically and technically to beat them. 

I thought we were excellent for 60 minutes against Airbus on Saturday. We had worked on shape a lot throughout the week and it was pleasing to see this in the game. Sadly, Cavan broke down with a hamstring strain in the game and we will assess this in the coming weeks. However, I thought Harry Cartwright and Cian Evans were brilliant up against arguably the best midfield in the league, at 18 and 19. The two are clever footballers and have a good career in the game. 

On the injury front, we hope to see Luke Griffin, Ruben Lima and Morgan Sadler all return to the squad which will bolster the quality in the group. 

We have 2 really big home games, Saturday and the 15th (Gresford) where we know these are games we have to take something from if we want to stay above the dotted line. If you have been to watch our games recently, you'll share the frustration that we have played well in large spells but just lack that consistency which we hope to find this weekend. As I always say, we will fight for the badge and this Saturday should be a proper game of football. 

Unfortunately the reserves did not have a game last weekend and the U17s drew 1-1 against Holywell with Harry Roberts on the score sheet again, well done Harry.
