Friday Night Lights.... next up Denbigh
Share
We travel to Denbigh on Friday night for our final away game of the 24/25 season. We know the task ahead will be difficult, they're a good side and have a successful record this season at their ground. We have beaten them twice this season and know we will have to be at our best again to complete the hat-trick of wins. With it being the last away game, can I please place my thanks on record to the Welly fans who have travelled this season to watch us play, your support has been fantastic and I have really enjoyed getting to know the fans who travel.
I'm sure I can speak on behalf of everyone at the club by saying how satisfying it was to get that winning feeling back on a Saturday afternoon. We played really well and fully deserved the 3 points, we could and should have scored more in the game but I am happy with the win. In football, it's important to have targets and something to work towards and ours now is to finish above Prestatyn. I am happy for Jon Collo that his scoring return this season in the league went above 10 (11 now) after his brace on Saturday; he's been brilliant this season and works his plums off every week and glad he's getting his just reward. To score a goal every 2 games at this level is great, even better considering he's been up there on his own in a side that has been relegated. Young Harry Cartwright scored the winner and he's been a breath of fresh air since he's joined us from Flint Town on loan. For an 18 year old lad, his attitude and application has been brilliant and I have no doubts at all he will play in the Welsh Prem and higher.
A big well done to the Reserves who won 2-1 away at Ruthin. Tom Wells and Harry Roberts on the score sheet for the reserves which moves them up to 6th in league winning 3 out of the last 4 games. A big shoutout to the reserves staff who have been excellent since coming in charge. The U17 game was abandoned on Sunday.
The reserves are at home to Airbus on Saturday 5th April, 11am kick off at The Ring, good luck lads!
