Big weekend for ahead for all Llay teams

Big weekend for ahead for all Llay teams

We travel to Alyn Park on Saturday where we look to gain maximum points against a good Mold side. In the first fixture at the Ring, I thought that Mold have been the best side we have played since I have been in charge and we know it will be a tough test. They will want a reaction after losing away at Ruthin and will see us as a winnable game.

We will go there and be resolute and hard to beat. Frustratingly, managers keep asking how and why we are in the position we are in, in their post match analysis of the games and this is a question I feel we do need to answer, on the pitch. We were excellent in the first half last weekend against Llandudno and need to take that into the Mold game. If we do so, I am confident that we will take something away from Alyn Park. We welcomed Bisensio and Cavan Daley back to the side, both of whom, were excellent. We have no fresh injury concerns barring Morgan Sadler who is recovering well and we hope to see him back before the end of the season but we are unsure of the time-frame of the injury at the moment.

A big welcome to the club to Harry Cartwright, who joins the club on loan from Flint Town until the end of the season. The midfielder / defender is highly thought of at Flint and we are pleased to have him. Harry has played 6 games in the Welsh Prem this season. The profile of player I have brought in, in this window is young and hungry to learn. All of the players so far have been superb and their attitudes have been first class and I'm sure they and us will get the rewards on the pitch soon. Staffing news, sadly, physio Dan Williams has left the club due to work commitments and we thank Dan and wish him all the best in the future.

Well done to the reserves who were 6-0 winners at Prestayn last weekend, their were some fantastic performances from the team. Well done to Ethan Simpson who got 2 goals and an assist, Elliot Bull who also scored a brace as well as Stephen Donkor and Keanu Bruton who were on the scoresheet. It is important that players from the 1st team play for the reserves to gain vital minutes and confidence, as seen on the weekend. Additionally, the reserve players should want to play well so they can knock on my door and demand to play in the 1st team. Boxer, Chris and Guesty are doing brilliantly with the reserves and long may it continue. Additionally, well done to the U17s who won 2-1 at Lex, Zac Jones and Harry Roberts on the score sheet, both of whom have been training with the 1st team and have bright futures at the club.

Reserves  take on gresford athletic reserves in the local derby and will be full of confidence after their big win last week. The game is being played at the ring and kick off is 11am

u17 also on action with their game away against Broughton united supersaints u17 kick off is 12o’clock and game is being played at North street pitch and post code is CH4 0BH

We look forward to seeing you supporting the teams this weekend

Up the Welly
